9 Franchises That Deserve Their Own LEGO Video Game

For decades, LEGO games have been everywhere, and not without success. By now, the formula is tried and true, loved by millions of gamers worldwide. With yet another LEGO Batman game on the horizon, it feels like it has been ages since a brand-new franchise received the LEGO treatment. So here is my list of nine franchises that I believe deserve their own LEGOfied video game.

Gotta build ‘m all!

A dream worth having. Pokémon is arguably the biggest franchise in pop culture and would be the ultimate candidate for a LEGO adaptation. With countless story lines to draw from and the potential for exciting battle mechanics, a LEGO Pokémon game would practically sell itself. And with official LEGO Pokémon sets releasing soon, the step toward a digital version feels closer than ever.

Transform my bricks!

This blockbuster franchise seems tailor-made for a LEGO spin. While the films themselves may not always impress critics, audiences love them. Transformers already share a strong connection with LEGO through their toy-like transformation mechanics, making this a natural fit. As a marketing tie-in with a future movie, this could be a winning strategy.

Shaken, not build…

The franchise of all franchises. James Bond has a long history in video games, and his legendary car collection already exists in LEGO form. Imagine a LEGO game combining highlights from multiple Bond adventures. With so much inspiration to draw from, it could become a fan favorite—as long as it avoids the pitfalls of games like 007 Legends.

Who you gonna build?!

Surprisingly, Ghostbusters has never had its own full LEGO game, aside from a small LEGO Dimensions pack. Considering the franchise’s ongoing popularity and its steady stream of new films, this feels like a missed opportunity. Busting ghosts with LEGO humor would be a perfect match.

Cowa-Build-A!

Heroes in a half shell, now in LEGO bricks. The Ninja Turtles are massively popular, and with several LEGO sets already under their belt, the leap to a full video game makes perfect sense. Their combat-heavy adventures, combined with a wide supporting cast, could result in a pizza-fueled celebration of everything TMNT. Cowabunga!

Ice cubes?!

With Ice Age 6 set to release in 2026, the timing feels perfect for a LEGO Ice Age game. With six films and a spin-off centered on Buck, the franchise has plenty of material. Imagine small creative side levels starring Scrat and his never-ending quest for the acorn. This could be both hilarious and engaging.

LEGO Disney Movie Pack

So many Disney films, so much potential. A LEGO Disney Movie Pack could offer short adventures inspired by timeless classics like Aladdin, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast. While each story might not sustain a full game, together they could create a magical collection.

Toy (bricks) Story

With four films, a spin-off, and a fifth movie on the way, Toy Story seems like the ultimate LEGO candidate (Check my ultimate ranking of the franchise here!). The series is beloved across generations and packed with memorable characters and locations. Playing through Pizza Planet or recreating the emotional finale of the first movie in LEGO form would be an absolute joy. So why not, Toy Story 5 is the perfect excuse to release a LEGO Toy Story game! If the Incredibles can have their own game…

Brick to the Future

Classic trilogies have often received the LEGO treatment, from Star Wars to Indiana Jones. Back to the Future is just as influential and would fit perfectly. Although the franchise already appeared in LEGO Dimensions, it deserves a standalone title. A potential future film could even provide more content to build upon.
